Bipolar by simonebyrne Bipolar by simonebyrne

Bipolar Disorder is a medical illness that causes severe mood swings which are caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. People who suffer from this illness lack the control mechanism that enables them to pull away from emotional situations and as such their lives may spiral out of control, through no fault of their own. The illness is very serious and very real and affects not only the sufferer, but their friends and family as well. There is still a lot of stigma attached to this disease, given that it is a mental illness to which very little is known about. It is incurable, but can be controlled by medication, diet and exercise. Most bipolar types are brilliant, creative, inspiring, loving, generous and caring individuals who contribute to making the world a better place, but all the while they struggle every day to survive.

Hi there!

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I haven't been on DA for quite some time.

Sure, I don't mind if you feature my image in your blog, as long as you credit me and link it back to this page.

Hope you have a safe and happy holiday season ^^

I'm very familar with bi-polar. Though I don't have it I can get very emotional at times. I've also heard people with autism are said to be bright, Albert Einstein was autistic and he understood math problems that were complicated.

Yes there have been a lot of intellectual and creative minds throughout history and presently who have struggled with all types of illnesses and disabilities and still lead brilliant productive lives.

Thanks Mark, I'm bipolar also, this image helped me understand the illness when I was first diagnosed. It's taken me six years to get the right pdoc and meds, but now things are great. Like you I have friends and family who are wonderfully supportive, it makes all the difference for sure. Hope you have a great Christmas! :santa: :huggle:
